jimconnormusic@afo.net Jim Connor was influenced into a musical career by his grandparents, Mother and Dad, and close family friends.  Arthur Kuykendal taught him to rap the banjo, and if you listen closely, you will hear Monk Daniel’s fiddle style in Jim’s banjo presentations.  Jim has played with several “Sand Mountain Bands,” as well as the New Kingston Trio.  He has been featured soloist on the 5-string banjo with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.  Jim has a collection of folk songs and stories that would keep a serious collector busy for several weeks just listening.  Jim Connor is no doubt one of Alabama’s most accomplished old time folk musicians.
