At the time of the Back Home Again LP recording, Denver was using Guild guitars. I bought myself a Guild from another musician and
kept it all during my time of service with John Denver until he passed away. The Back Home Again LP was John’s first recording of my
composition, “Grandma’s Feather Bed”, and in the subsequent 1975 “Celebrate” tour John used Guilds. The Guild is a D-40 made in the
early 70s. There are two cracks on the back of the guitar near the end-pin. The original case has rain damage. Inside the case is gold
velour lining. The names of the musicians who performed on the original Back Home Again album, including John Denver, and the date
(1974) are in-scripted inside the guitar.
Well, I’m selling my D-40
Guild that that I had all
through the years of my
service with John Denver. Let
me know if you are interested.
You can contact me through
my Bookings Page.
Bless you all.
